Privacy Policy

Stytch (“the App”) is a timelapse camera application for iOS and Android. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the App accesses, what we collect, and how it is used.

The short version: your photos never leave your device. We do not upload, store, or sell your images or personal data. Sign-in is optional and only required for purchasing or restoring “Remove Ads.”

The App requests the following device permissions:

• Camera

  Required to capture photos for timelapse sessions. Camera access is active only while a shooting session is running. We do not stream or upload video or images.

• Photo Library

  Used to save exported timelapse videos to your device gallery. We do not read your existing photo library.

• Bluetooth & Local Network (optional)

  Only requested if you choose to set up an ESP32-CAM device via Settings → StytchCam (Beta). Bluetooth and local network access are used solely for device provisioning on your local network. No data is sent to our servers.

Stytch does not:

• Upload photos, videos, or timelapse sessions to any server
• Track your location
• Build a profile of your usage or behavior
• Share personal data with third parties for marketing
• Require an account to use core features (Shoot, Sessions, Gallery, Export)

The App offers optional sign-in via email/password or Google Sign-In, powered by Firebase Authentication (Google LLC). Sign-in is required only to:

• Purchase the “Remove Ads” in-app purchase
• Restore a prior “Remove Ads” purchase on a new device

If you sign in, Firebase stores your email address and a unique user ID on Google's infrastructure. We do not store additional profile data. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@stytch.app.

Firebase Authentication is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

The free version of Stytch displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use device identifiers (such as the Advertising ID) to serve contextual ads. We do not provide AdMob with any personally identifiable information.

AdMob's data practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized ads on Android via Settings → Google → Ads and on iOS via Settings → Privacy → Tracking.

Purchasing “Remove Ads” disables all advertising SDKs within the App.

Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We do not receive or store your payment information. Purchase receipts are verified with the respective store.

All timelapse data (photos and sessions) is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the App removes all local data. If you have signed in, you may request deletion of your Firebase account by emailing support@stytch.app. We will process your request within 30 days.

Stytch is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
